In my many years of cruising, I have come to understand that there are three types of cruisers: 1) The cruiser that flies into port the day of their cruise and making it on board with just an hour or two to spare 2) the cruiser who flies in the night before to ensure they can be the first one on the ship the next morning 3) then there’s the cruiser who flies into the port a few days early to take in the sights and sounds of the the city that they are departing from. Truth be told, I’m a combination of all three of these cruisers put together, but when I’m traveling solo or even just my husband and I together, I tend to fly in a couple of days early, especially when the ship is departing from Brooklyn, New Orleans or San Francisco because these cities have so much to see and do, and it’s like a vacation before the vacation!
